Qr code scanning issues

New user here. using the default gos installed camera on my device and it doesnt scan qr codes, i searched topics in the forum and didnt get any answers, only that the default gos camera should have the ability to scan qr codes.

im coming from iphone so all i had to do on iphones was to scan the qr code and automatically the qr code would get scanned and a link would pop up but that doesnt happen on my pixel 9a running gos

Like i said i searched this issue in the forum and only see that thiers a qr code scanner in the camera but im not seeing it all in my settings, any help please and thank you

When the Camera app is launched, there is a row of function selectors near the bottom of the screen. Most likely the selected one is "Camera", under the shutter button. To the left of "Camera" is "Night", and to the left of "Night" is "QR scan".

de0u ahh!!! i stand corrected, it does show up but only when youve opened the camera app after the device has been unlocked.

the entire time ive been tryin to scan qr codes has been when im at the lock screen, and ill double tap the power key to quick open the camera app and the only options i would see were camera, night , and video.

Because the step after scanning the QR code (such as visiting a web site) won't work while the device is locked, I'm not surprised if the Camera app suppresses options that can't do anything if invoked when the device is locked.

de0u would make sense if the option was their , when its clicked on , youre asked to unlock the device to proceed to scan the qr code instead of having to unlock the device and then open the camera app, too many steps imo, especially when ones in a rush or just wants to do stuff quickly

I suspect that making that work would require the lock-screen code to work differently than it does.

Xoicra it's probably disabled for security reasons.
