How to RMA Pixel phone after installing GrapheneOS

I can't resolve an issue with my Pixel 6a, so I want to begin an RMA process. What do I need to know before doing that?
Do I need flash stock Android before starting an RMA?
Does anyone have advice for backing up my phone data and apps before sending it back to Google? I might want to buy a replacement to use while it's away, if I can get an RMA.

Backup wise you have Seedvault in the OS (not holistic or constantly reliable) as well as each individual apps backup processes, ensuring to take copies of any recovery codes/seed phrases etc
