Smart-ID doesn't work

Hey, so today I decided to switch to GrapheneOS, everything was going well, was very excited to try this OS, but the excitement ended quickly. Unfortunately, to use my online bank, I have to have app called Smart-ID and I kept getting issues while trying to use banking apps. Since I only have one phone, I didn't try using my existing Smart-ID, so I had to create a new one. I sued the ID verification method and kept getting a message that it failed saying "registration method unsupported on this app version". I tried to re-install, tweaked the privacy settings, even set up a google play store account just to be able to use Smart-ID, unfortunately, nothing worked. I read that it worked for some people in the past, by going to the bank and setting it up there, but since the messages I received, I have doubts that it would work.
Does anyone have any ideas how to make it work or is it game over and I should stick to factory OS forever?

Mate, we don't even know if you're trying to use Lithuanian Smart ID, UK's Lloyds' Smart-ID, or something else; how can we help?

Can you get your Smart ID verified in person somewhere?
Did you try contacting your bank to advise?

chinook yeah, you are right, I didn't give enough info. It's the lithuanian version of Smart-ID i tried to use the forum guides, but it didn't work. I also comtacted Smart-ID cs and I'm waiting for their anwser.

Maxokaine did you try disabling native code debugging? Someone here had a similar problem with one of your banks, and that helped: https://github.com/PrivSec-dev/banking-apps-compat-report/issues/244

chinook yeah, disabling it worked, but only for the other banking app "swedbank", managed to get it open without crashing, but with the other app nothing helped

Hello, just this week I successfully setup qualified SMART ID on GrapheneOS in Lithuania.

I used the method where you physically go the bank (Swedbank in my case).
Encountered no issues.
You don't have to give them your phone or anything,
just show the short code displayed in a giant font that is displayed on the 15 minute timer after you have chosen your pins, which you can do beforehand.
They also had to scan my ID card in the scanner and I had to sign a document.

I didn't try the ID verification method (if you mean not the smartcard reader version, but with phone photo) because it stated I needed to already have basic smart id for it.

I first attempted the web browser on pc smart card reader method. Made it to the part where you get the time limiter code without errors, but quit as I had a lot of issues setting up the reading and web extensions, with many links going to 404s.

In preparation for setting it up, I read that apparently you should grant SMS permission for play services, did that. But maybe that's wrong as nothing sms related happened.

Also, not very related, I needed to disable native code debugging for swedbank app to not crash.

Lokacija Thanks, I'll have to call in for an appointment then, and try to set it up at the bank, just my small concern is that it will not work, since it told me that the application was outdated (which it was not, I checked that it was the same build, released on the same day) but I will try. And yeah, I tried the method of using my ID to register a new Smart-ID account since it worked for me in the past, but maybe with this OS only this way works.
