Select cloud in storage scope

I am trying to use storage scope for an app which needs files on my Proton Drive. However, when I click on storage scope, it only seems to propose local files and not my Proton Drive (which I usually see in the system Files app). Am I missing something or is it not possible to choose cloud storage in storage scope?

No. Local storage access is the point of Storage Scopes. It doesn't impact communication between apps. If you want the app to use the files, then you'll have to either use the Share function or download the files from Proton Drive to your local storage.

Thanks for the reply, @Dumdum. That's too bad, the point was to use the same files on an app and on the desktop version of the app; using cloud storage would have been ideal.

Grodu Syncthing would be the actual solution for that, although it doesn't involve Proton Drive if that is an important factor for you.
