That's what I've read, and that's what I've understood, let me know if I'm misinterpreting and or over reacting.
How that could affect the the programs and apps that we have downloaded from there? Like, in obtanium the apps that auto update, wtf is going to happen if they start putting spyware or something

I don't like ms having any control over anything either. This is why I avoid using github when possible. I use a mix of self-hosted gitlab, as well as gitlab.com.
