Portable 4G router?

Hello, I want to have internet connection everywhere I go with my prepaid SIM but I don't want to put that SIM into my phone so my carrier couldn't see my IMEI and stuff. Is 4G portable router the best thing for this? If yes which one would you guys recommend?

Just for my understanding, what difference is there between a portable router and a mobile phone (apart from the voice channel) ?

They will still see the imei of the router, so nothing gained.

abcZ it does mean that the phone's IMEI would not be blacklisted for any activities performed via the router, and 4G routers are a lot cheaper than a Pixel.

abcZ not true. You hide the IMEI that belongs to the actual device in use

There are 4g routers that have the capability to change IMEI. Sadly we didn't accomplish to remove the baseband from the pixel. So only Ethernet with router.

I was thinking to do this because if anyone tried to attempt an SS7 attack then any STK requests would turn up data from the 4g router and nit the phone (thus woukdnt return any GPS data, onky cell tower).
