I am 67 years old and have been using computers since 1975, I am old but I love my computers and spend between 10-16 hours a day on it even after all these years. I am going say something here that may give everyone something to ponder. I am good very good but I know there is no way I can compete with the garbage microsoft does. I can tear the system apart get the processes down to 40 or so but these guys have billions of dollars I cannot beat microsoft if I want to I would use linux or another operating system. This is true in the phone world too you can't run graphine (i do) and shove google store crap onto it. Oh you can sandbox and do what you wish but that garbage has been done by the best of the best with an unlimited budget. So I don't want to seem like an ass but if need to run google stuff use android please, I know thats not what some wish to hear but the same is true on computers, if you need to run microsoft's programs use windows. The experience will be great for you and you end the hassels everyone has trying to mix and match things. Now for those running graphineos we do not use social media, we consider our privacy utmost and out security very important. Welcome to the real world. I tip my hat to you. To the rest enjoy what you need to experience the full enjoyment from your device. Maybe one day you truly come ever and I look forward to greeting you on that day. Till then please remember there is no right or wrong, have a lot of fun and enjoy.

There is some irony to your comments, but your intention seems well enough.

There are plenty of scenarios where security is paramount, while still having a desire to use Google services. Not everyone is anti-Google, even among GOS users. Some just wish to have more control over which apps have network privileges, or to have fine grain control over other elements, such as storage scopes.

I am in the camp of avoiding Google services wherever possible, but I respect those who feel differently and who still wish to take advantage of all that GrapheneOS has to offer.

It's about having the freedom to choose.
