RedDeath The GOS team has very high standards. I've been daily driving the experimental OS since day 2, and it's been more stable than the stuff pumped out by MS and Apple. Especially after the update a week and a half ago, it's been rock solid. Be aware of the USB issue discussed here; there's a workaround that's effective but not ideal from a security perspective. Other than that, though, it sure doesn't feel experimental to me.

I am on the fence about just using the experimental release after the many positive reports in this channel.

Not really. Github doesn't have a complete list of outstanding problems. But you can get a flavor of things that have been reported there and not yet closed. More things have been reported on # testing, but that's a lot to wade through if you don't keep up every day.

A stolen device forced me to buy a new one and i was able to get a slightly used Pixel 10 Pro at a much better price than a new Pixel 9 Pro.

Went all-in, have been using the device as my daily driver since shortly after experimental release and only encountered minor bugs so far (one camera crash notification after every reboot (after that camera works flawlessly so not a big issue), a user profile that had to be reset once because it caused crashes and reboots, and a USB bug which has a solution). Otherwise, it runs like clockwork. Nevertheless, I am aware of the risk and think RedDeath takes a reasonable approach.

But personally, I like to tinker and set up devices from scratch, and for me, it wouldn't be the end of the world if I had to do everything over again. I'm backing up even more cautiously than usual and have an old Samsung device nearby waiting to be setuped in worstcase scenario.

Pearshaped This doesn't directly answer your question, but I've not had a single issue with my Pixel 10 using experimental. And I installed since around release. Maybe a few days later, I don't remember. So I'm sure most of the issues from early on have been worked out. I can't speak for the other Pixel 10 models.

Murcielago I'm about to buy the 10 right now but i seen it doesn't have a sim card slot. i use verizon on my s22 ultra right now will it be hard to setup the esim on the pixel 10 with graphenos on it?

Relatively easy to transfer to, I'm on Verizon with a pixel 10 pro. I'm sure you know this already but if not, the phone can't be from Verizon it needs to be an unlocked version

AngWay I set up my P10Pro's esim before switching to GOS, but I also came from a physical sim. When I first set up my p10, I got asked if I wanted to transfer my sim from another phone. I clicked "yes" then just had to confirm on my old phone.

Psyonico Ok i figured is you wiped the phone and put graphen on it it would erase anything to do with the esim but u are saying it doesn't?

Leaving Erase eSIMs unchecked in facory reset dialogue (Settings> System> Reset options> Erase all data (factory reset)) will lead to a factory reset preserving your installed eSIM(s).

New user here. Pixel 10 Pro XL is up and running. Haven't found any issues yet. The Esim thing was new to me but didn't cause any issues. Man I like this phone! Coming from a Samsung A53 5G that was not very fast or responsive and the screen drove me batty with every tap being read as a swipe. The paradigm shift is real but I like it. Feels so much better knowing I'm in control.

Thank you to everyone who is involved with this project. I will be donating on a regular basis. Nice that even with an "experimental" build I have a perfectly working phone. I think the only thing I miss is being able to move the cursor by swiping the spacebar on the keyboard. First world problems for sure.

Are you using the stock Android keyboard? A lot of us have downloaded gBoard, denied it network access, and been pretty happy (it includes swipe typing and the spacebar cursor adjustment you mentioned).

hetter Is this documented on GrapheneOS's Android Auto docs? It works for me when I did this but if it is required then maybe it should be in the docs. Haha.

starglider how can you be sure there's nothing in the code that allows talkback back to Google using Gboard regardless of denying network access? How safe is it really? I'm currently using Heliboard with swiping libs, seems to do the job

RoyValentine It's not intended behavior; it's a workaround for various USB bugs in the current experimental release. The devs are aware of it, but apparently it's going to be a lot of work to fix. Regardless, it shouldn't be necessary once P10 is out of experimental status.
