sappy_junior728 Does GOS get around that battery protection feature that Google implemented?
Are you referring to the Pixel 6a battery protection? This thread is regarding the Pixel 10 series
See here: https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/26209-grapheneos-version-2025090600-released/22
It only impacts the subset of Pixel 6a devices with a battery detected as faulty. Not all of the original devices shipped with a battery now considered faulty due to a fire hazard. It won't impact devices with the battery replaced with a working one. People with their battery detected as faulty should get it replaced, ideally with their free replacement program, or take the cash and get it replaced another way.
Effective since 2025092700:
add SystemUI and Settings integration for detecting and notifying Pixel 6a users with batteries impacted by the fire hazard issue resulting in capacity and charging being throttled along with directing users to the support options for getting a free battery replacement, $150 credit or $100 cash as compensation for the faulty battery (a subset of this will be replaced by AOSP code when Android 16 QPR1 is finally pushed to AOSP)

No, we don't have a toggle for disabling it. We strongly recommend replacing the battery if you have one of the ones impacted by this regardless of whether we end up adding a toggle.
