I've had the Pixel 8a since the beginning of 2025 and the experience has been great.
These are examples of the battery consumption on a Pixel 8a.
When watching videos in VLC they are usually 1080p resolution and with HEVC/h265 codec.
When watching videos in NewPipe they are always 720p/1080p resolution.
Majority of the consumption examples are while using WiFi. When not on WiFi, phone is configured to never use 5G.
My own estimates (made several of them spanning several discharges) say, without using the phone screen at all, but just having the usual programs running in the background (DAVx5, thunderbird etc.) it amounts to a maximum of 10-12 days on standby.
I personally think the consumption while standby or with the screen active is fantastic!
