Incoming Text Meassages Sometime Fail with Error

Sometimes (once or twice per week esp when I have sketchy cell service) someone sends me an MMS text and it doesn't come through. Using GrapheneOS stock text message App with all permissions allowed. Error: "couldn't download size 30kb expiration with date and time, message expired or not available." Anyone else experiencing this from time to time? Is there a way to resolve this? or should I try another message app? If so which one would fix this? Thanks!

Link below of a screenshot of the error I receive in the stock SMS App when a MMS photo doesn't come through. This is happening several times per week. I do travel frequently in areas where my phone goes in and out of cell service multiple times per day. But this never happened on any of my prior Samsung phones that I recall.

Before I switched to using RCS texting, groups text and pictures (MMS) would silently fail sometimes and not download, annoying.

So, if I was in a group text with a few people, I'd have to periodically look at the individual conversations with sarah, matt, etc to see if any texts failed from them for the group chat and tap download.
As you experienced, if I missed it and waited too long to download the message then the message expires, normal behavior. Rarely, I'd have a fresh, downloadable message fail to download, a bug.

Or switch to RCS with google messages. I haven't had any issues with RCS.

Same issue here. Occurs randomly. Still searching for solution.
