Signal donation badge

I can't get the signal donation/sustainer badge to show on my signal profile. When entering account > badges the option to display badges on profile is greyed so that I cant toggle the option.

I have done the following, trying to solve the issue:
Followed the signal FAQ but with no luck.
I made the donation from the signal app.
I made sure the payment went through correctly.
I reinstalled signal via github apk and also via google playstore
I gave signal every possible permissions and enabled exploit protection compatibillity mode.
Rebooted the phone.
Turned off VPN.
Tried to donate a few times.
I am using the latest version of GrapheneOS and Signal.

I am using a pixel 7.
Any ideas on how to solve this?

If I understand correctly, the OP has already looked into it. But the setting is grayed out.

Did you perhaps donate by bank transfer and it has not yet been 14 days since the donation?

Bank transfer donations may take up to 14 days to clear. You will see this message as Signal is waiting for a response from your bank.

Other ideas that come to mind:
Have you tried using a different payment method?

Did you wait a month? I could well imagine that it might not be possible to change the donation if the current monthly donation is still running.

I paid with credit card, and I can see the payment has successfully gone through on my bank account. But I guess it could take a while.
I tried gifting a donation to a friend with the same payment method and it worked for him instantly (he has a ordinary android phone).

Not sure this is helpful but I can confirm it works on my device on GrapheneOS. There is a setting under Donate to Signal/Badges and then "Display Badges on Profile", is that setting turned on?

Interesting. Do you have signal installed on the Owner profile or do you use another user profile for signal? I found a github bug ticket with exactly the same problem I have but the solution isn't mentioned in the ticket. I will try to contact signal and see what they say about it.

laffe Hi, sorry for the late response. Yes, Signal is installed in the owner profile and is from the Playstore. I noticed the strangest thing today though, while using Signal I realized that my badge was missing from my end but it displays on my avatar on other peoples devices! It has always displayed on my end as well so I would check with someone you message on there (if you haven't already) and ask if they can see it.

chance My signal is installed on another graphene user profile, not on the owner profile. It seems that have the same problem. No badge visible on my own phone but it is showing on my profile on my friends phone.
