Is Advertising ID for each profile reset every session (Reboot)?

Hallo I just was curious about functionality of the "Advertising ID" and I read faq page and I'm still kinda confused sum what.

I'm now considering switching to GrapheneOS after eyeing it from some time now. On my previous android phone I would always reset the advertising ID often manually in settings.

So I see in the documentation it states the "The advertising ID is unique to each profile" and "The advertising ID is exposed via the Settings app and can be reset to a new random value".

My question really is...Does each profile get a random Advertising ID set every time you restrt the phone?

If not is there an option to do this or rather what is the reasoning or limitation of such a implementation?

If I were to speculate, I suspect:

Nobody has filed an issue request,
It isn't obvious exactly what everybody would want, e.g., phone restart might be too often or too rare,
If an issue were filed, it might well end up ranked behind other privacy/spoofing ideas.

First of all, this only applies if you install Sandboxed Google Play, which is a per-profile decision. Even if you install it in one or two profiles, it might be desirable to avoid it whenever possible.

More importantly, why don't you just "delete" the advertising ID? That's what I usually do. Or do you want the ads to be "personalized"?

So, you can delete your advertising ID in GOS (not sure if you can do that on stock) but that is better than having it auto-change since you just never have one at all

To do this, once play store/play services are installed, go to

Settings>App>Sandboxes Google Play>Google Settings>All Services>Ads

From there, you should see a button to delete your advertising id.
