How long after Pixel 10 release is grapheneos available

I am just wondering how long after the Pixel 10 release can we expect grapheneos to be available?

No pressure on the time but I am just wondering how long previous model like Pixel 9 and Pixel 8 took?

You can usually get a better deal on the new phone if you order when it is first released. I can just buy and wait. Just wondering the time frame.

At this point it is plausible or likely, but not certain, that it will be possible for GrapheneOS to support the Pixel 10.

So a post-purchase wait might be two days, two weeks, two months, two years... or forever.

Do the reverse...they'll go dirt cheap when they announce the 11s - and by then you'll know for sure if the 10s will be compatible.

Took around 2 weeks last time; won't be this quick in the future since Google doesn't release device trees for Pixel phones anymore - so these have to be reverse engineered by the team.
If Google doesn't screw everyone up this time by locking the bootloader or some other shenanigans, I would expect an ETA of around 4 weeks.

5rlyn I’m waiting for the announcement of the new phone. Rumours are the camera is the same as Pixel 9 Pro so may be tempted to get the 9 instead if I can get a good deal. Seems like the wait for Pixel 10 support is only a few weeks but you never know as software is always changing and evolving

It' truly not that difficult to scan the changelog with AI and find where the first releases for older devices were.

It normally takes a few weeks, I'll expect double that this time

That being said, it is likely for GrapheneOS to be supported, but it is still unknown.

GI1 yes, clearly easier. I literally went to the release page, ctrl+f pixel 8, reverse searched (shift+enter) for the very first entry in the changelog and found the release 2023102300 with "initial non-experimental release for Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro support"

That means the first GOS p8 release was 23. october 2023, and the p8 released on 12. October 2023.

Now you can do the same easy search for the p9. Then add another month on top for the p10 because that'll be harder to port, now that google doesn't release the device trees anymore.

GI1 Once again, the situation of the 10 is not comparable to that of the previous generations since Google changed its strategy. The first step was closing the sources of the device-tree. Shall it be the last step or will they lock the bootloader or whatsoever ?

GI1 Hello good afternoon, I personally am not worried about when GrapheneOS will be available for the Google Pixel 10, in the week of Black Friday (the week of November 20) I will buy online the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL, I calculate that it will take a month to bring it to me so I will have it for the week of December 20, by then surely GrapheneOS will be available to be installed on the Google Pixel 10.

I would wait for the reveal this week (20th of August) and see what the graphene team says about it, whether it meets the requirements to be supported or not. And then go from there.
