SMS are send two times

I got a Pixel 9 with all updates, Play Services and Store are installed. SMS Graphene stock app.

When i send a normal SMS, they are send twice. I checked this with a friend, after i press send it shows "sending" for some minutes, but the sms is send immediately.

When "sending" disappears, the same sms is send one more time.

Provider is o2 Germany, Network is LTE.

Do others have this problem too?

It might happen under certain conditions:
A - do you nave multiple profiles?
If so, did you send the SMS from a secondary profile?
B - Do you have different languages in your GOS profile than your native language?
I am asking because the problem might be as follow:
You sent a SMS from your secondary profile without using your country prefix. The SMS was sent correctly, but the app automatically added the prefix corresponding to the country of the secondary profile. Due to some bug it was sent in the main profile as well but correctly.

You can check this by checking the prefix of the sms recipient in both profiles and confronting them. If they are different this might be the case

The solution might be as follows: send the SMS by specifing noto only the number but the country prefix as well.

MineralWater maybe.

I would suggest testing another SMS app, to check if it solves your issue. The AOSP SMS app is quite ancient and has a lot of (upstream) bugs.

QUIK is usually the go-to recommendation for modern SMS apps.

No, i always just had one profile, the main profile. I had a second language in system settings, i erased that one.

Prefix could be a point, i think i always put numbers into contacts without prefix. Though it works fine for calls.

Edit: i checked the info for the already send sms, there the correct prefix was added to both numbers, sender and recipient.

Apparently some issues due to version 9 of messaging app and people were receiving multiple SMS

Current version is 12.
