After updates to new versions of Android, do bugs appear?

I would like to see if anyone else has this general issue. I've been using GOS for about 4 years now and I've noticed that after each "major update" to a new Android version (e.g. 13 to 14, 14 to 15, 15 to 16 etc) there are weird bugs or quirks that appear and don't go away until I do a factory reset of my phone.

The latest, with the update to Android 16 is my flashlight turns on randomly when I'm using the phone - and yes, I'm careful not to have any flashlight shortcuts or gestures that could cause this . That, and sometimes I can't clear (shut down) apps on my phone - the clear or close app gesture just stops working for a minute and then I can get it to work.

When I went from 13 to 14 and 14 to 15, odd things happened too. Once I did a factory reset, everything worked fine after (but then I was forced to reinstall everything on my phone and set it up which took a couple of days).

Not complaining, as GOS is great but just seeing if I'm the only one here.

This is expected with every major version upgrade of any kind of software.

Max-Zorin don't go away until I do a factory reset of my phone

This part is weird. Something may be unusual for you or you're confused or not testing properly. Idk.

I can confirm this, I've experienced this too, but the way it behaves leads me so far to believe that it might be a new feature.

Max-Zorin One potential "issue factory" is that some app authors don't upgrade their apps for a new Android release until after the release goes out. Thus many GrapheneOS users have the new release before many app authors (who could prepare by running beta releases of Android but may not in practice).

And of course new Android releases often contain new bugs!

Max-Zorin the only one I've had is swiping up to close apps won't work sometimes and I have to go left and hit close all. It could probably be fixed by clearing the cache partition but it's so infrequent.
