GOS friendly paid music streaming service?

Looking for a gos friendly music streaming service that doesn't require google play and pays their artists. Are there any that make their money from subscriptions and not from surveillance capitalism?

pixelfairy Apple Music works very well without any Google services or anything.
Apple certainly isn't an ethical company, but it's worked very well for me so I've just stuck with it.

I use Qobuz because they offer high-resolution music (I use Roon at home) and pay artists relatively well. As far as I know, Spotify pays 0.3 €-cents. Qobuz, on the other hand, pays 1.8 €-cents to the rights holders. However, it should be noted that the rights holders (a label or music distributor) also deduct their share from this.
However, Qobuz sets a completely different standard to Spotify.
The Qobuz app does not use any Play Services on my GrapheneOS device.

Same can be said about Spotify on my device. The only issue I find is that registration form does not allow usage of VPN, so you need to use a public hotspot somewhere if you don't want your IP to be associated with the service as you can use VPN to stream, but can't use to register... Plus Spotify offers vouchers which can be paid with cash adding extra layer of privacy.

Were you able to get the app without play store? Have you tried their web player? Can you background it?

Qobuz or Tidal!
Qobuz if you know exactly what you want to listen to and playlists and personalization aren't the most important feature in a music app for you. If you subscribe to the Sublime tier you also get steep discounts when buying albums and singles from their store.
Tidal if you want to retain the spotify-esque playlist personalization and recommendations.

I've personally tested both of these on graphene and had zero issues with either of them.

Bandcamp is another pro-artist option but I never got around to trying it on graphene

For what its worth Deezer works well for me. Also I would when choosing a service take into account which one caters the best to your tastes and preferences.

Sigismund If the artist wants to be paid live, he must make his own streaming platform and produce himself. It's not up to the platforms to pay artists. And this is not the subject, the one who reverses the most is Qobuz. That's the answer to the question.

The best in terms of privacy, while supporting artists the best is likely Apple Music.
Tidal (which has been recommended), seems to have a terrible privacy policy from what I remember (happy to be corrected if its changed).
The other is to buy the music from the artists and save them to either a music server like Navidrome, or locally on your device and use an app like Auxio to play it.
