Fitness and Wellness Permissions for Play Services

This issue began about a month ago. I play a game in a work profile that has play services installed. It requires step counting and was working perfectly fine. Since a new Graphene update it is asking to give play services permissions for fitness and wellness.

If I go into settings and attempt to give play services permission to use "Health, fitness and wellness" nothing happens. I can press on the permission and it does not give me an option to enable it. This means my game is unable to track my steps unless I have it open. The whole idea is that I can track steps while my phone is in my pocket.

I've seen a few people have similar issues but no solution. Does anyone have insight into this?

This appears to be the issue. I tried in Private Space and the same thing happened to me. I'm not sure why it isn't working, though.

I tracked it down. Looking at the wrong version of the code, but I'm going to assume it's the same or mostly the same. HealthConnect is reporting that it's not available, so Settings kicks you back to the permissions list. I'd say that unless AOSP makes a change, then it won't work from within a work profile or Private Space. I know it used to work in secondary user profiles, but maybe it doesn't anymore. I didn't check.
