For others: Swissquote's app doesn't seem to be a "payment app" or "wallet app" at all, so it could not support NFC payments on itself. The use Google Wallet / Google Pay entirely for this. The app works well without Play Services otherwise. There are other apps, that can function as a "payment app" (eg. Revolut, PayPal, iCard, Curve, etc.), in theory one of those could be used to "digitalize" the virtual card from Swissquote and make NFC payments (but I haven't tried them, so far none of them seems to be too trustworthy). @thmf
