Can't switch nor erase eSIMs on Pixel 9 Pro

I had this same issue with Visible and my Pixel 9. Originally I was able to activate my eSim on stock Android with no problem. I flashed GOS and it worked fine but then stopped working. I tried everything to get it to work again including flashing the stock OS. On the carriers end there was no issue with the IMEI and it came back ready to activate. I actually tried both eSims and kept getting activation failed. The customer service rep insisted that the phone was defective but after doing some digging and speaking to friends still working in the industry (which I did for 15+ years) I was told that companies certain providers were shadow banning IMEI's associated with phones running GOS. I am not sure if this is true but it would explain why the activation keeps failing while the IMEI shows as being white listed, at least on the surface.

To me that sounds like implausible speculation rather than knowledge, especially since there are reports of eSIM failures on devices that have never run GrapheneOS (see other thread, already referenced above).

If an industry insider produces screen shots of database entries for "shadow-banned" IMEIs, that would be of interest. But I suspect that will not happen.

Sorry your esim isn't working.

If carriers were blocking users solely for using GOS, I would imagine we'd see a minimum of tens of thousands of users having esim issues. Considering the USA model of the pixel 10 only has esims, it'd affect a lot of people.

If the user was blacklisted, their physical sim should be blocked as well, which usually isn't the case.
