is my charging port broken or protecting itself ?

yesterday my pixel 9a told me the port was disabled, then shortly enabled itself so i went on about life as normal. well fast forward to now and i look at the battery icon and it is at around 2%, so i go to charge it but it doesn't work. i reset my phone and turn it back on with a charger plugged in. it shows itself at 0% and i can only use it for a little bit then it dies, so what should i do ? is it just protecting itself for now ? the matter isnt urgent as ive gone back to using my iphone.

Greatlyright567 I suggest a visit to a local repair shop. If you're lucky all you'll leave with is advice, but the situation might be worse than that.

Between now and then, can you charge it wirelessly?

Note that repeatedly running the battery flat is bad for it.

I would (carefully) inspect the port for any debris and try to clean it out if you see any. If you don't see any or that doesn't work then you'll likely need to bring it into a repair shop.
