dregrinfuces When I connect my Pixel 9a to my Windows 10 computer via USB to move files around, I don't get a "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in my Windows 10 System Tray. I get such an icon for every other USB device I plug in. Is this normal for phones?
nandohyphen1 dregrinfuces yes its definitely normal. :) When I unplug my Pixel 6a from my computer I don't get any 'safe to eject' messages either. I've heard that as long as you've closed whatever programs you were using with the phone (eg; file explorer) then its safe to just unplug it
Oggyo This is normal and expected behaviour for some devices where "Quick removal" policy is enabled for them or the "Write caching" is disabled. E.g. my dedicated GPS device is acting the same way.
MEGAbyter Perfectly normal. It's always safe to remove as long as you aren't in the middle of an active file transfer.
dregrinfuces Thanks for the replies. Since I don't get the Safe to Remove thing, I've just been waiting a bit to make sure all the "disk" activity is done before yanking the cable out of the phone.
nandohyphen1 dregrinfuces I've just been waiting a bit to make sure all the "disk" activity is done before yanking the cable out of the phone As long as your not in the middle of transferring anything and all programs are closed, you will be fine. :)
