Gozem won't start

I'm migrating from an old iPhone to Pixel 8a with Graphene OS, and so far the only trouble I encounterd is with one specific app.
The app name is Gozem, widely used in western Africa for transportation (a local Uber app basically).
This app is working on regular Android devices and Apple's iPhones, but I cannot get any luck with Graphene OS.

The app starts, request permission to use the location and then is stuck in an infinite spinning loop without going furter in the start process.

Does anyone has a suggestion or had tried this app on Graphene OS?

I gave it a quick try and after granting precise location it went to the "Enter your phone number" screen. I quit at that point. I install apps from Play Store, everything in one profile, logged into google. Not sure what's different on your phone.

Glad you get the app working.
I'm on Graphene OS 16, just factory resetted and freshly installed some other apps (WhatsApp, Uber, Add Times, K-9, etc.) but only with Gozem I have troubles.
All of them downloaded and installed from Play store.
I do have Google account and mail logged in too, one profile too (Owner) and apart the apps installed from Play store the installation is pretty standard.

Can I ask you more details about your settings, if you don't mind?

A guess would be some sort of location option, since that's the last thing it asked you and it does start almost immediately polling location on my phone (green indicator on the upper right corner of the screen).

I found the issue, and problem solved.
The app was stuck at boot because the Location services were totally turned off in Graphene OS.

Once turned on, it started and run (apparently) normally

That'll do it. GrapheneOS has a lot more options than a normal android phone in an attempt to let the user decide the balance of functionality and privacy and amount of dependency on google.

In this case, I think it's an app issue. it's likely that the app would hang on the stock OS too. The app should not hang at startup like that if it's waiting for location.

Either way, glad it's sorted out!
