Wireless charging is unreliable

I have a Pixel 9 running GOS and the wireless charging feature seems quite unreliable. I have tried a variety of wireless chargers and it usually starts charging and then quickly disconnects, and then reconnects over and over. Has anyone had this experience and found any workarounds?

On a side note, does GOS provide all the required firmware updates that Pixels receive?

I'm experiencing the exact same issue on my Pixel 9a running the latest version of GOS. I'm using the Quad Lock wireless charger on my motorcycle along with the official Quad Lock MAG case. Everything worked fine with my previous iPhone 15 Pro Max.

I'll run a few more tests, with and without the case, and by adjusting battery protection and NFC settings. I’ll also try restarting the phone to see if that helps.

Done all sorts of tests and unfortunately no difference. After some online research, there seems to be a lot of folks having issues with their Pixels and wireless charging, regardless of whether they are running GOS or else.

A lot of them seem to have something to do with the current output being too powerful and the Pixel needing something that provides a tad less power?

Same problem here with my pixel 9a after few seconds wireless charging stops when on, but with the phone turned off wireless charging works fine.

I've been using an Anker wireless charger and a Pixel 9 without Issue since Christmas.

Prior to that, I was using one of those round Samsung wireless chargers I got years ago, sometimes that would disconnect if I never placed the phone correctly.

I have an anker wireless battery bank that does just fine with a pixel 6 pro, but goes on and off with a 9 pro xl. Both running gos. The 9 charges fine when its turned off.

Same problem here with Pixel 9 XL Pro. It charges on the Google wireless cradle, as well as the QuadLock mag charger in my car. But on the motorbike QuadLock charger, it initially charges for about a second and a half, then flips to not charging. If it's intermittent, it's mostly off, as I completely drained it on a ~ 2.5-3 hr ride. I've just proven that there's nothing wrong with the charger per se, as my Pixel 6 with stock OS remains charging as expected. I also have an "AccuBattery" App running, but I tried force quitting that in case it was causing the problem. There was no difference. This is crazy.

og77 correction -- Quad lock in car is irrelevant. Just realised it's not wireless.

Sounds much more like charger incompatibility issue not an issue with the pixel 9 . It obviously works with the Google wireless dock and others but not certain other aftermarket ones. Is it really a surprise? It obviously is not meeting the W charging specs of the phone regardless of what it may claim. What some of the videos of electrical engineers testing USB chargers for compliance with certs and specs.

I have never had an a issue with my 8 pro XL and glad I decided to skip the 9 (not for this reason) and for waiting on the 10. Quite happy with my 8 Pro Xl and Pixel tablet both running GOS 7ntil the 10 GOS is ready..

Bought 2x Pixel 9a (obsidian and pink) and baseus 15W magfit wireless charger. Both have gos installed and same release. Obsidian one charges without any problems, but pink does on/off loop with wireless. Unlikely a software issue. Maybe hardware issue by google.
