wireguard - verify apk certificate?

I've new to Graphene and have been using Obtanium to download apps. So far I:

go to the website / github repo of that app and grab the SHA1 / SHA256 fingerprint for signing
paste the Github URL into Obtanium
verify the signing cert using AppVerify

However for the Wireguard APK, I can't seem to find a place where these are published. So 2 questions:

Does anyone know if and where Wireguard publishes these?
In cases where they aren't published, how do you all handle this? Do you just build the app yourself?
