Hi all,
I run all my Google apps on a profile. I installed the Play Store to my main profile from a burner Google account to install some apps when I first set the phone up, then deleted it entirely. Once I had my Google profile up and running, I installed the Play Store to that profile from the Grapheme app store, logged in to my business Google account, and left it as-is in sandbox mode. Most of my Google based apps work more or less as intended, but the Play Store will only connect to the internet after a fresh install, and only for a few minutes. Then it disconnects and says "no network available" and the only way to get it to work again is to uninstall and reinstall it.
For random example, let's say my photo gallery app (Aves) and my Facebook app both need an update. No matter how I try to initiate the update, the Play Store tells me it can't connect to any network. It doesn't try, it just says "You're offline. Check your connection or get a notification when you're back online" and that's it. No "thinking" or anything, just that screen, immediately and always. I uninstall the Play Store from the profile, open the Graphene app store, and reinstall the Play Store. Google Play Services remains installed and, as far as I can tell, functional the whole time. Once the Play Store is reinstalled, I can now download the updates, but I must do it quickly. I can get through several updates before I lose it, but if I update Aves and then get distracted with literally anything else, on or off the phone, when I come back "You're offline. Check your connection or get a notification when you're back online" and I have to start over.
The number of apps installed or updated doesn't seem to make a difference. I haven't been able to accurately time it but it seems to be several minutes that it works, unless I stop using the app. For instance: on a fresh install I can update both Aves and Facebook, then several minutes later the Play Store loses its connection. If instead I update Aves and then after the update is complete and Play Store is idle I lock my screen and go do something else, when I come bqcl I must reinstall to update Facebook. Alternatively, if I update Aves and then get on YouTube and watch a video or use Vanadium to read the news, when I come back to Play it will have lost connection and I have to reinstall it to update Facebook.
This didn't seem to happen when I first set up the phone about a year ago, and I don't remember exactly when it began, but it has been happening for at least six months if not longer. I don't remember making any significant changes other than trying to get cross-profile text messaging to work better. I changed a lot of settings for that but none of them helped anyway so unless I missed one somewhere I changed them all back.
Any ideas? Am I doing something wrong? TIA.
