SIM card not recognized

I'm relatively new to the GOS, got one running on a new Pixel 9. At first, it did not "see" the SIM card, but after one restart, it figured it out. I updated the system yesterday, and the problem has come back, but this time, no matter how many times I reboot, it does not solve anything. I have reset the network settings, but it did not help. Does anyone know what to do with it? The ability to call people is, indeed, a bit important. I have tried this SIM in my previous iPhone and it works.

It's possible (though admittedly unlikely) that there is something wrong with the SIM reader on the new Pixel 9.

That is a good piece of experimental evidence. Can you borrow somebody else's SIM to try in your previous iPhone and your new Pixel 9?

I have reinstalled GrapheneOS. Switched it on and off multiple times (I tried to get the StockOS to check if it will work then) and I had some problem with the Android flashing tool and then suddenly I have rebooted Graphene and it discovered the SIM card, then I rebooted again and the problem came back.

On StockOS, the SIM is not recognised either. Could it be possible that installing graphene has damaged something? Or is it rather a hardware issue from the start?

Likely a hardware issue from the start, but did you try what someone else suggested a couple posts up?

The suggestion was to get a SIM card from someone you trust and try it in your phone.
