I have a Pixel 4a (non 5g version) with GrapheneOS installed and is used as a daily driver. There is no sim in the phone and I am trying to provide it with an internet connection from a secondary android handset via USB tethering.
I have set the secondary handset to default the USB connection to 'USB Tethering'. I have verified that the secondary handset and cable work to provide internet as I have tested this on my laptop and the internet is shared instantly on connection of the usb-c cable to the laptop.
Unfortunately this does not work when I plug into the grapheneos pixel 4a. I do not receive a prompt and checking "getprompt | grep usb" I see that the usbd daemon status is 'stopped'.
Should usbd be running in order for tethering to work?
Hope someone can shed some light.
Thank you
Clark
