SMS/MMS issues

Hopefully my last big issue.
I've been having issues with SMS/MMS messages. I'm using the default messaging app, and I've have instances of picture messages that were sent to me in a new group chat, just not showing up on my end, even though other people received the messages. I've also seen a lot of instances of text messages from people I'm in group chats with, getting stuck under their SMS thread as "tap to download message" which when I do tap to download often takes hours to download. In once case a message sent at 2PM didn't download until 8PM, and then a whole bunch of backlogged messages all came gushing forth.

I can live with most of the other compromises of Graphene, but losing messages is a big one. Any thoughts on what might cause this?

Issue seems to be ongoing. I've checked my APN settings, restarted the phone, checked and cleared permissions for the messaging app, but it's still happening.

Intermittent problems on Pixel 7 Pro here, for most of a year, now.

Sometimes, it seems that problems re-emerge after an update and then settle down after a week, or so. Discovered today when outbound messages were disappearing/unsent from stock app in secondary profile that I had missed several texts over the last few days (visible only in Admin profile). Problem may be (primarily) associated with SMS/MMS in secondary profiles. I've had more problems with MMS. Also I think there are problems trying to use non stock app.

I know Devs have their hands full, and I'm so grateful for GOS, but I agree that this bug needs a clear acknowledgement.

Moved my SIM back to my old phone, 200+ missed RCS messages in the two weeks I was on the other phone.

binaryhellstorm If you haven't set up RCS on GrapheneOS but have left it enabled for the number, you're going to miss messages. You either need to use Google Messages or turn off RCS for the number.

Same issue started for me around the same time. Pixel 8a. Built in messages, textra, and fossify. Seems to only be MMS and doesn't matter if received from android or iphone.
