Pixel 9 Pro Battery Drains Quicker than my Pixel 6

I recently switched from the Pixel 6 running GOS to a Pixel 9 Pro also running GOS. I have set them up nearly identically, yet it seems like I am constantly having to charge my Pixel 9 Pro. When it is sitting idle I notice that it is warm.

I'm not sure why it is draining so fast, I have done all I can think of to ensure nothing is depleting it unnecessarily.

LTE Only is enabled
Airplane Mode is usually on

I will share my battery usage stats after the current charge drains down to empty again, for deeper insight as to what might be going on. I had charge optimization enabled so I disabled it and topped it up to 100% to get a good reading of everything. Meanwhile, does anyone have any other suggestions?

I just checked my phone after it sat idle for 4 hours and it says that the Launcher used 15% in the background overnight. Telegram used 10%, and aodNotify is the next one in line with 6% battery usage, all other apps are <2% battery usage in that same timeframe.

I just disabled Launcher from having Background usage enabled.

Something is going on here though; I never had to do this on my Pixel 6. I am using the same apps and have set everything up to be identical to the previous setup for familiarity and functionality I am familiar with.

IAMHereNow288 I am questioning whether the Battery usage screen is even accurate now. I opened it up again and now it is giving a completely different readout:

Launcher 20%
aodNotify 15%
Molly 7%
Telegram <1%

What might I do to troubleshoot all of this further? This is frustrating. Phone is warm when it has sat idle for hours.

I downloaded AccuBattery to see what it can tell me over the next while.

next_victory They show that Mobile network and Wi-Fi are using the most by far, each showing 30%.

I did change a setting that has seemed to make the difference:
Settings -> Display -> Smooth Display, and toggled it to "Off". Since then it has had a steady slow decline, lasting as expected. I do notice the display isn't as smooth but I'd rather have the longer battery life than the higher refresh rate.

IAMHereNow288 This should be my last post regarding this issue since it seems to be resolved and battery is now draining as expected.

With Smooth Display "Off", my battery life is much greater than it was with it "On". Battery temperature is also significantly decreased and phone is no longer warm to the touch. As to why this was draining it so heavily when my phone was sitting idle, I do not understand. Maybe something to do with the way aodNotify works with Smooth Display on, but I'm really not sure.
I turned background usage on again for my Launcher and all is well.

I am continuing to use AccuBattery for greater insight about my battery usage; it is teaching me how to get the most out of it and to adjust my charge cycles accordingly, based on actual measurements and math.
