vibrate as default when receiving sms?

When I receive sms messages, my phone does not vibrate unless I go into setting > notifications > conversations and manually set individual conversations to vibrate when receiving notifications from those phone numbers. That is tedious, and there must be a better way.

I have battery saver turned off, vibration and haptics on, and notification and ring vibration set to max on the slider. How can I make vibrate when receiving texts the default?

Not sire if this is it or not, but in settings

Go to Sound And Vibration
Vibration and Haptics

Then make sure "use vibration and haptics" is turned on and the slider for "notification vibration" is up high enough.

Psyonico unfortunately I already have those setting on. Thanks for the help tho!

I think I found the solution. Go to settings > apps > all apps > messaging > notifications > show unused categories > then click on the text of "alerts," not the slider. Then check that it's set to default and vibration is set to on. Do the same for "incoming messages" under the earlier unused categories tab.

It's not clear that there's another page for alerts and incoming messages, any chance that can be changed in an upcoming release?
