I'm looking for some help with a new install on a Pixel 6a. I've been running GrapheneOS on my pixel 6a for 2 years with no issues, love it. I just installed GrapheneOS on my wife's Pixel 6a and noticed that when using the SAF system, the file picker doesn't have access to any files. Sometimes it can see the Android folder but no others like Music, Pictures, Download, etc. For example in Newpipe, I click Menu > Settings > Download > Audio Download Folder which brings up the SAF picker. I want to use /Download/newpipe as the download folder so on my phone I click Menu > Open from > Pixel 6a > Download > newpipe > Use this folder. On the new install, when I get to Open from > Pixel 6a, all I see is the Android folder (or sometimes nothing). It's like the file picker app itself that interacts with SAF does not have permissions.
I've tried looking for storage permissions, etc, but kind of at a loss on how to troubleshoot this. I don't remember doing anything special on my phone which is also on the latest version and does not have this issue. Any suggestions?
I'm familiar and comfortable with ADB, Linux shell, etc. but just don't understand Android internals very well.
