Caller ID problem

Pixel 7Pro: It really bothers me that when I am called abroad, the name of the person calling me does not appear next to the phone number. I should mention that the contact list contains the correct person's data with the country code. I noticed this problem about two or three months ago after an update, before it worked fine. For the service provider test, I put the SIM card in my old Samsun S20 phone (identical contact list) and it works perfectly. I don't know if this is a bug or something else.

zsandras It would be good to report, for a few occurrences, exactly what number was displayed on the screen (and exactly what number appears in the call log), versus exactly what number appears in the contacts. It would be ok to obscure the last few digits. For example, if what's in the contacts is "(650) 303-XXXX" and what is displayed on the screen is "+1 650 303 XXXX" that would probably be enough information.

zsandras Interesting is what you say, but it is incomprehensible because my address list has existed for more than 20 years, through several telephone devices, but as I mentioned, the pixel 7pro also worked for approx. 2 months ahead. This is not a unique case when I am not in the country, every phone call comes in the form mentioned. I suspect that a mistake occurred after one update. I wouldn't make a big problem with it, but I travel abroad on a daily basis and there are plenty of calls that I would be able to call back later and there are important and urgent requests I have to respond to. I can't remember hundreds of phone numbers, this is not the goal in the 21st century, but I look at one name then I can quickly dont what to do. I'm sorry to restore Stock Rom because this operating system is much better and safer than all the Custom Rom I have used so far.

Thank you for the answer, in the contact list all contact persons appears with Name, function address etc. and complete phone number +40 77137XXXX. When I am called on my the display it appears on 077137XXXX, that is without the country code and the person's name. I tested abroad, I called another mobile phone, also Pixel 7 Pro, also in the same country, my complete number appears with the country code and my name. I asked him to call me and I found the same problem. I don't think the problem is the service provider. If I am in my country of origin the display on the screen is absolutely correct in both directions.

zsandras My sense is that the AOSP dialer is not stellar about number prefix heuristics. In your example, there is a zero in what the carrier is sending. That may not be "wrong", but if the dialer doesn't have code to heuristically strip the leading zero before pasting on the country code, there won't be a match.
