Is aurora as bad as it used to be?

I've tried it but I'm getting the Download Failed error. At least the aurora stora lists itself inside its app list.

Then I guess you are using an older version.
Since a few months (?) Aurora doesn't list itself as app anymore.

Best way is to delete this old version and get the recent one from GitLab.

I recommend using Obtainium, then the URL to add Aurora store to Obtainium is:
https://gitlab.com/AuroraOSS/AuroraStore/-/releases

The recent version has the name: AuroraStore-4.7.3.apk
(only necessary if loading manually – Obtainium needs only the path (URL) I mentioned above.

cleanbowtie I've just noticed the Aurora store only lists itself in the apps list in the latest stable version 4.6.3 where it also fails to update from within the app (manual installation of a newly downloaded version works fine).

The most recent version from GitLab Releases (4.7.3 and at least few before as well) doesn't list itself in the app list anymore.

tac well put, it's amazing for it's use case. I don't understand all the hate it gets.

I have mostly moved from Aurora, but I have found one use case for it: Balatro.

For some reason, Google Play stops its installation of Balatro on non-Google Android, but Aurora Store allows it to install, so my game profile now has a weird mix of Google Play for other games and Aurora for Balatro.
