edent The "Phone" permission allows the app to see if the phone is in use. For example, if you're on a regular call it could notify you in a different way to if you're not on a call. Similarly, it won't let you make a WhatsApp call if you're already on a regular call.
You can deny access to call logs and contacts - which are separate permissions.
is it true to say that if I allow whatsapp the phone permission it won't be able to get my call history, contacts etc?
I do have contact and storage scope for whatsapp specifically set
