Question about DNS leaks with VPNs

It has been quite some time, but the issue still has not been solved? Am I interpreting this correctly?

Has grapheneOS solved this solved this issue for their version of the Android VPN application? if not, what can I do to make sure that the VPN does not leak my DNS requests?

Also, here's an issue where another leak was reported to us: https://github.com/GrapheneOS/os-issue-tracker/issues/5273. In the issue you can see that they said:

This is a follow up on the DNS traffic can leak outside the VPN tunnel on Android leak that we talked about in May 2024. As far as we can tell this is fixed on GrapheneOS and still not on stock Android, so great work there!
