Apologies of this has been covered; I've searched quite a bit and don't see anything definitive. I know the general position is that if the stock Pixel supports a carrier feature, then GOS will. However, I saw this note on Hacker News by Daniel: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=41272499 "GrapheneOS has never included these [carrier apps] so it's missing features on Verizon including Wi-Fi calling."
Does anyone here have Verizon (postpaid) and GOS whe can confirm? I was planning to purchase a new Pixel in August but only if I can install GOS. I definitely need wifi calling, since one of our properties is outside of cell service.
Is there a way to install these carrier apps? I understand there are some privacy implications, but wifi calling is pretty non-negotiable for me, so it's either that or no GOS for me, unfortunately.
Edited to add: I've seen a number of comments here and elsewhere (e.g. https://www.reddit.com/r/GrapheneOS/comments/194egje/does_it_matter_what_carrier_a_pixel_from/khm6rq6/) implying that it does. So just trying to see if anyone with real-world experience here can comment before I take the leap.
