Community opinion on voltageOS

Ive searched the forum to check before posting this, but apologies if there is history im not aware of.

I noticed this fork of grapheneos called VoltageOS, the developer / maintainers are supporting more devices but must obviously lower security due to lack of hardware support .

What is the opinion on this project by graphene?

Also, their devices are mostly out of date. The most updated devices are four Redmi devices from June. Five of their devices seem untouched since last year. One of their devices is a Nothing Phone. They also support a Realme and Zuk Zuk, whatever those are.

All-in-all, yet another unserious alternative OS hobby project.

What is the opinion on this project by graphene?

Not even sure they've heard of it.

ACuriousFellow My opinion is not official, but I can't help noticing that a lot of the device build dates on the site are in February (five months back) and some are earlier. That plus the reduced level of hardware security for the devices compared to Pixels suggests that GrapheneOS on Pixels is the better choice for people focused on security.

Said differently: VoltageOS might potentially be the most-secure OS for the Redmi Note 10 Pro, but that wouldn't make the result high-security.

Please note that I don't speak for the GrapheneOS project.
