Tips and advise regarding never having a 5g signal

Im looking to get advise regarding never having 5g. Ive been using my p7a for nearly 2 years on GOS (phone has been on GOS since the day i bought it) and never had a 5g connection.

I live in the country so normally put it down to this, however i have been to city's where 5g is available. Im on a vodafone payg sim that as far as i believe does support 5g and supports the p7a, So as far as i believe reading threw https://grapheneos.org/usage#carrier-functionality i believe my p7a should be able to receive 5g.

Im 99.73% my APN setting are correct and also regarding resetting network settings etc i have factory reset my phone many times over the time of having it, another example and why im asking now is i factory rest my phone last week (not for this problem) and last night i was in a city where i should of got 5g and did not, only 4g.

Im not overly bothered by this but after confirming last night that i was not getting a 5g connection i thought i would ask.

Dav3 based on my own experience you should check with your network provider that your plan has actually access to 5G and may ask them to send you a replacement SIM card that is guaranteed to work with it. You shouldn't pay for services you entitle to but don't get.

Thanks for your reply, Yes this was the first thing i checked that my plan was supported and should of said ive been on 02 payg and smarty also (within the first year of buying the p7a) and also never saw a 5g connection so my gut feeling is its not the sim but i cannot rule it out i spouse.

Have you tried changing the Preferred Network Type for that SIM?

wizoatk No, ive never changed it, ive just left it on the default (5g preferred)

I called vodafone to double check everything there end. They said i should get 5g but they did 'reset' my sim card as said as im always in 4g connections sometimes it stays stuck in 4g (not sure if this is true or not)
Anyway next time im in a 5g area i will see.
