Pixel 6 display doesn't lock

So, I have a Pixel 6 with a Lock Screen timeout set to 15 seconds.
I have this random bug that I cannot always reproduce.
When I open an app (it happens with lots of apps) and then put the phone on a table, the screen doesn't lock and stays awake.
The brightness doesn't dim, no screen lock.
If I manually lock the device, reopen the app and put the phone again on the table, now it locks after 15 seconds as per settings.
I'm not talking about streaming videos or music, I'm talking about browser, clock app, calendar etc...
Anyone having the same issue?

I have the same issue with a pixel 4a, I think it's a long standing AOSP bug.

MrR Yes you are right. I face the same problem. Lets hope for a solution.

You do not use a screen protector that could interfere with the sensors, do you?

Are you by any chance using any apps which use accesibility features or an app that have special permission to display over other apps, or something like caffeine? These could cause this.

[deleted] No I dont use any screen protector. I ll check whether there is any accesibility problem. But still Screen Lock should be on the top off all. And it happens randomly. Not all the times.

HI,
the only app granted the permission to display over other apps is phone. No app uses accessibility features.
And yes, I have a screen protector but I cannot understand how it could possibly interfere. The display is supposed to lock no matter how many light is detected

You are right, my bad. That could interfere with brightness adjustment, but not with the lock. Kindly disregard, my comment.
