It's called Cuttlefish.
This may or may not be a prelude to cutting Pixel AOSP support and locking all the bootloaders.
They did cut support for Pixels from AOSP but it doesn't mean they can't be supported anymore. Existing Pixels will continue supporting using GrapheneOS. Whether future Pixels meet our official requirements will only be known after they're launched. We expect 10th generation Pixels to meet all our requirements and plan to support them but it will take significantly longer than usual to add support for them.
Following getting our Android 16 release to the Stable channel, we're going to need to focus on further automating device support so that future major releases don't result in similar delays as the ones we faced with Android 16. We didn't know this would happen and didn't prepare for it. We received early notice of something happening but without enough details or any evidence of it.
