Hey all,
So I am looking to get off "cloud" services for storage or my files, and I was looking to see if leveraging Seedvault maybe a good alternative (given its had some issues in the past).
Now, I know GOS is apparently re-writing the backup system, but given the challenges with A16, I think thats way on the back burner.
So, my plan is this.
Get 2 high quality USB drives, maybe Samsung blades at around 128GB (I dont have much outside music and photos).
Setup a little charging dock with the USB plugged in (rotated nightly between the two), set Seedvault to auto backup every 24 hours or something (nightly backups) and then when the phone goes to charge, plug it into this dock, let it charge and do the backup in the night.
This is just for files, not apps.
I want to use Seedvault for the encryption, I could use something like Tasker to automate this, but I'd like to keep it native and encrypted.
Again, I want to keep this offline, so kind of rules tools like syncthing fork out of the running for now.
TIA all!
