KDE Connect: GOS Best Friend

Just a quick post,

I found this KDE Connect feature while messing about in the latest KDE Fedora 42, and I was just blown away at how good it is.

This app just works, and absolutely no issues with its functionality on GrapheneOS, just amazing, it has functionality that would make Apple engineers blush, I had more issues with an iPhone and a Macbook just using that rubbish Airdrop would send me in fits of rage, when it wont work, it WONT WORK, but KDE Connect is actually like magic, I can access files, copy, paste, drag, drop like its a drive inside my laptop, and all the other features, its just amazing, and best of all, it does not require you to give your first born to Google or Apple for that matter for it to work.

If your a Linux user, this has to be the best feature to use with your GOS phone, just makes Apple look stupid :)

KDE Connect is good. I found a similar app as KDE Connect that works with a web browser and does not require a companion app to be installed on the desktop, called PlainApp: File and Web Access. Can also play audio files in PlainApp.

LocalSend is also a great, open-source, cross platform alternative to airdrop. Works on everything (iPhone, android, windows, Mac, Linux).

It only does a subset of what KDE Connect does, (transfers files, media, clipboard, folders to another device on the same WiFi network), but it's remarkably easy to use, looks nice, and doesn't require a persistent connection. Just open the app on both devices when you want to transfer and it just works. I even got my tech illiterate relatives to use it.
