Need help: My new pixel no longer powers on :/

Hello everyone,

This afternoon after work when I took my Pixel 9 pro out of my bag, it was strangely switched off even though it still had plenty of battery when I had last used it 2-3 hours earlier.

I've now charged it for more than 10-15min but nothing changes. I've pressed the power button for more than 1min 3 times, the power button and volume down button for more than 30sec, the 3 buttons for more than 30sec, nothing changes unfortunately.

The phone hasn't been dropped and it's not even been 1 month since I ordered it on Amazon.

Being in the middle of exams, I honestly don't know what to do and am a bit worried. As a brand new GOS user, I really enjoyed using it. And such a problem has never happened to me before.

Strangely, when it's charging, it's quite warm. Well, nothing excessive, but about the same temperature after a 30min video call.

Do you have any suggestions on how to get it working again?

DF218 Try pushing and holding the lock/power button for a long time, like maybe 30+ seconds to a minute. Does that work?

Update: the phone gets really warm just by charging. About the same temperature as when I use my phone in the middle of the day in the sun when it's hot.

other8026 Unfortunately this also doesn't work :/

I would guess it's a hardware failure because after holding the power button for around 30 seconds, I hear a very slight noise in my phone, similar to that of a malfunctioning SSD.

@DF218 Try to leave the phone to discharge completely. If it does, then start charging it. After a while, start the phone. If you see the bootloader, it means that the device is probably working. If not, it may be a hardware fault. It is worrying that the phone heats up so much. Are you sure you are using a safe charger? Damage to the phone may have its source in cheap chargers.

argante I also thought of trying this, but how can I know when it is completely discharged since the screen is completely off?

As for the chargers, I only use official chargers and cables from Ugreen/Cable Matters and have never had any problems with them for over 3 years.
