GrapheneOS "while we're still reimplementing device support for Pixels due to AOSP removing it"
Y'all are still goated for doing this, especially since releasing the device support code will help pretty much every other smaller developer on Pixel devices when it comes to A16.
Seriously, this project has done so much for my work, work that has actively saved lives, and something I wouldn't feel as comfortable doing on stock than GOS. I work with people in very vulnerable situations, GOS is one of the few platforms I feel comfortable holding their information in.
Just on contributions alone, hardend_malloc, scopes, and just generally giving actually good security advice and products instead of security theater and conspiracy theory nonsense has been a huge help within the entire tech and android community.
You have actively made android a much nicer experience user wise, and a much safer experience system wise.
I really do all wish every maintainer luck on porting A16 device support, I know the delay is stressful, but genuinely I am just thankful you all feel the drive to do it. I know this project has had a lot of stress put under it, especially with groups targeting you (trust me, I know what its like.)
IDK why I wrote this entire thing, I know the development team probably reads the forum, I am just hoping they see it. Everything also applies to the community contributors like matchboxbananasynergy & other8026.
I just wanted to write a small love letter since i'm sure everyone on GOS is having a hard time both with porting and the community itself. Everyone (myself included admittedly) collectively freaked out at the concept that GOS would discontinue with the device tree drop, I feel bad putting that stress on the community.
Good day, sorry this drove off the topic of the update itself...
