I understand that current devices are OK as we have all the device tree for Android 15 and Google will still keep publishing the kernel sources for future devices. But what will this mean exactly for future devices? I understand there are drivers or part of drivers (library for working with the camera and so on) which are part of the userspace and will probably be closed source. Is that correct? What will new releases do? Will they need to copy a lot of blobs from the official release? Or reverse engineering? Would that even be legal? What about releasing a GSI version? Since the Google ROM is pretty secure by itself, would it be feasible or is the hardening provided by GOS on the vendor partition? Thanks!
