What's going on with the OS sounds in graphene?
I recently got a Pixel 9 Pro XL with the intention of using it with Graphene OS. Before I did that, I spent a day using it on the stock Pixel OS with no google account. One of the reasons I enjoy android so much is the tactile and audio-sensory experience, only made even better by the Pixel 9's haptics. In my opinion, the lock/unlock and default tap sounds on stock Pixel OS beautifully match the haptics, and I'm pretty sure that's by design. Upon installing Graphene OS, I realized that the modern and elegant OS sound effects form the stock OS were surprisingly gone!
I was greeted by the ancient ka-chock unlock sound I grew up with back on Android 8 & 9 when I waited a whole 10 seconds for the family tablet to show the homescreen unlock animation.
Will the Pixel sound effects get migrated over to Graphene? How difficult would it be to add custom ones?
I'm new to this community, so I'm also wondering how closely Graphene OS tends/plans to stick to the Pixel experience, especially with the upcoming Material 3 Expressive redesign. Will Graphene OS update minor non-privacy details to follow Pixel OS even if a majority of the userbase dislikes the changes? Is that what happened with these sounds?
Thanks!
