I JUST got a google pixel from swappa a mere 3 weeks ago specifically to use grapheneOS. I had been using iphones exclusively before this. I recently became more interested in prioritizing my digital privacy so after spending a lot of time researching I finally pulled the trigger and decided the learning curve would be worth it.
Well now with the recent news about AOSP and graphene maybe not continuing, I've been trying to figure out an alternative. From what I'm seeing the other custom operating systems don't come close to graphene and are not necessarily guaranteed to last. I did like using the pixel and all of the open source apps that weren't available on iPhone, but now I'm wondering if I should just switch back. It seems like the iPhone is still pretty private and secure especially when compared to android phones out of the box.
I'm very new to all of this and do not have much experience with the more advanced aspects of the technology in smartphones. So I could just be misinformed. But that's another reason why I'm considering switching back? For someone who doesn't really know what they're doing, iOS could be the better solution?
I still have it sitting here waiting to be shipped out for trade-in on swappa, so I'm wondering if I should just trade the pixel back in instead.
I just need some input from people a little more experienced and knowledgeable than I am when it comes to this stuff. Grateful for any help!
