graphuser To be honest, I'm not that concerned personaly with this level of security, I'm more concerned with privacy and repairability, if things keep going in the direction they are, I will just buy some garbage phone like the HMD Skyline, and just use it as a dumb phone, as I really dont use my phone for much anymore, I have the Pixel 8 Pro and I still use an iPhone 12 Pro for work, and I just dont use them for anything but recieving phone calls, and the occasional text message, the most used feature on these phones when Im on the road is just music and maps, and both can be fullfilled withough Apple or Google.
I prefer to use a real computer to do anything else properly, I have slowly removed everything from my life that requires some app and account on a smartphone, It's cost me a lot money to just bin things, but its the way I've gone, so I will continue to use GrapheneOS for as long as I can, but once my Pixel is dead, I wont be buying another one.
If GOS doesnt decide to have a custom handset built, I'm hoping that there could be a fork of this project that is a little less secure, but be a more general image that will work with a range of alternative devices, if not, then I will just have to modify the OS on something like a HMD device and strip it down to the bare essentials.
