I know it's not a priority, but does GOS have long-term plans for families?

Obviously GOS has a primary focus, but I think for long term adoption we should be thinking about trying to bring entire families over. For instance, my kid and spouse use iOS. If we could do the same family stuff on GOS we would all be using it (screen time, control settings, share resources, etc.)

Just curious.

grapheine it is uncommon for GrapheneOS to develop features unrelated to security and privacy, primarily because any new features need to be maintained from then on.

None of this will be added by GOS, its not apart of the project. These features are almost always insecure, unethical, and you would be better off just not giving your child a phone or giving them one without the capacity to use the internet.

I agree with the others that GOS will likely not add these features. If AOSP does allow the owner profile to restrict the screen time of the secondary profiles, they might port it over but it's not a primary concern

They are always insecure, there's not a single good 'parental control' application I have seen.

People should of learned better after the leapfrog disaster but here we are I guess.

Just wondering, but would a second password for the settings app/ changing some settings, not be like kinda good enough? (from grapheneOs side)

then could things like app installs and dns/ vpn settings effectively not be changed..
this might even add a security benefits for regular users

dhhdjbd +1 for password protecting Settings (including direct access from notification panel) although I don't see it coming any time soon, if ever.
